Koen De Decker graduated from the Rijksacademie Amsterdam at the end of the 1990s. As a passionate dilettante mathematician, he is looking for the geometric construction of space. This results in room-sized constructions in wood, metal or plastic pipes. At first glance, drawings and videos form a counterweight to the (pseudo-)scientific strictness of the installations. However, everything seems to come together (literally) in the eye of the artist. Through a video image of his own eye, he confronts the viewer with the often forgotten fact that art is primarily concerned with our (weak) perception.
